[220SDI] Quelles enceintes mettre à l'avant?
« le: 24 Juillet 2005, 17:33:10 »

Bonjour,
Merci.

Ok so youve bought your new speakers for the front of the car but you dont know hoe to fit them!!

What You'll Need:
1) A small Flat head screw driver.
2) 2 Peices of 10" by 10" 9mm deep Birch-ply-wood
3) A jigsaw
4) A Drill
5) 6 1.5" Screws (Normaly come with the speakers)
6) 12 Half inch screws
7) A star screwdriver
8) Replacement plastic screws Part number:EKM100270
9) A Compase
Step One

Firstly open the door as wide as you can and wind your window down fully then get your small screw driver ready to take off the door handle.

Now push the screw driver into the top corner any side will do, then prise the top of the door handle the reason for doing it at the top is there is a clip at the bottom which you dont want to break!!
You should be left with something looking like this....

As you can see theres now 3 gold screws behind the door handle, dont take them of yet.

Step Two

Now we need to take the backing off the doorcatch again you need the small screw driver you need to again prise the cap off like so....

Once you got that off you'll end up with a gap showing the back of your door but you still have a plastic ring round there, simply pull it offand this will leave you a bigger hole plenty of space for your handle to get past.

Step Three

Your door pin is going to be the hardiest thing to get the door card off with so to make it easyer we need to pull off the protective ring, again you need the small screw driver and push it under the ring and pull upwards..

Step Four

Ok so its time to take thoes screws out, remove the scres from the doorhandle and from the top and bottom of the hindge side of the door,
once uve removed the screws, remove the rest of the door handle by holding it and pulling towards you and up..

Now you need to take the doorcard off.

Step Five

To remove the doorcard pull at the bottom till you feel the clips pop out  then work your way round the side then finaly the top, by the time youve got to the top you need to remove the plastic cover for your mirror
This simply pulls off...

once youve reached the top you need to pull the door off by picking it up and over the window frame and the door pin! Careful now as you have your tweeter wire still connected to the doorcard pull them off and put your doorcard somewhere, should look like this when its off,

and the back of the doorcard will look like this...

Step Six

Remove the speaker held by 3 screws then pull the wire out with your thumb and index finger against the sides of the plastic housing and pull.

Ok your now left with this gap lets get fulling it with some speakers!

Step Seven

Its time to cut your pods out i found the best way to get the same shap was removing the foam from the back and using that as a template,

The foam will come in handy later so keep it safe.
Place your foam on the wood and draw round it including the center hole and the screw holes.

Now the hole thats there might not be bigenough for your speakers so, remember the compase, we then use that to get the diamater of the speaker then draw that in thecenter of the circle on the wood you might want a ruler to make sure its center.

Then cut it out ether the center first or the shape first, i did the shape first

Step Eight

Drill the holes in the screw point you drew round before and  then go and see if it fits, you no need the larger screws, fits ok, great then screw your speaker into the housig youve made, ready to fit to the car door.

Step Nine

I found the wire from the original seaker to be too short and i didnt want to break the housing so i made some extenders, for this u need two diffrent coloured wire and put male and female clips on ether end.

Now you need to put it into the old housing and check youve got them the right way (positive and ground).

if thats all ok then, place the foam on the back side of the wooden pod and then screw it into your door

Step Ten

now you just need to test the speakers working ok and your happy with your work, once your happy then any broken clips need to be replaced before putting the door card back on remove the broken ones and then replace with the new ones might be a tight fit but it needs to go all the way in i used a screw driver to knock them in fully.

The tricky bit is putting the coor card back on, you have to put it over the window frame first then once its in there correctly put your mirror cap back in before knocking the screws back in then put the doorpin ring back on and so on till you end up with your door looking like this...
